With over 60 colleges and universities and more than 150,000 students, the greater Boston area is a vibrant academic hub. Some of the city’s campuses are just blocks apart, creating a dynamic environment where students from different institutions easily connect.

Among Boston’s many options, the Fenway Five—a formal consortium of Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), Simmons University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology—offers a unique opportunity. Located in the heart of the Fenway neighborhood, these colleges collaborate to offer cross-registration, shared resources, and joint events, giving students access to a wide range of academic and social opportunities. Whether your interests lie in the arts, health sciences, technology, or liberal arts, the Fenway Five provide the benefits of small college communities with the amenities and energy of a major city.

During my recent college tours in Boston, I also visited Northeastern University (renowned for its co-op programs), Boston College, Harvard University, and Boston University. Each institution offers unique programs and campus cultures, so I always encourage students to research colleges online to find the best fit for their academic interests, extracurricular activities, and campus amenities. After narrowing down your options, schedule a guided campus tour and attend an admissions information session to get a true feel for each school.

Choosing the right college is a big decision, and understanding what makes each institution unique can make the process easier. At Confident College Planning, I help students and families identify colleges that align with their goals and interests. My services include planning discussions for exploring majors, building college lists, planning campus visits, essay editing, application review, scholarship research, funding strategies, and more.
